Where the Water Holds the Sky

The pond seems to have forgotten where the sky ends and the water begins.

Lilies drift quietly across the surface—some green and whole, others browned and fading—like little fragments of time. Beneath them, the deep blue water holds shadows, reflections, and things that cannot quite be seen. Above, light breaks into countless pieces, trembling between blue and gold.

Nothing in this picture is completely still.  The leaves float, the reflections shimmer, the light moves. And yet there is a profound silence in it.

Perhaps that is what makes the scene so beautiful: life does not have to be perfect or still to be peaceful. The young leaves, the old leaves, the flowers that have passed, and the dark water beneath them all belong to the same moment.

It feels a little like memory — beautiful not because it stays, but because it quietly drifts away.
